Hotter Than Your Mom

When we were approached to rebrand the best hot chicken spot in Tulsa, we were already craving it. It is not often we get to work on a brand from our hometown, so getting the chance to collaborate with one of our favorite lunch spots was a real treat.

Founded by Philip and Danielle Phillips, the restaurant first opened in 2018 at Mother Road Market, a local food hall. As they prepared to launch their first brick-and-mortar location along with another food hall spot, they knew it was the perfect time for a rebrand. Their original brand had served them well, but it didn’t offer much beyond a color palette and logo. What they wanted was a bold, fun, and slightly abrasive identity — and we delivered.

We built a fully realized brand system: a custom font, a deep library of assets, merchandise that pushed boundaries, and even a skate team. One of the proudest moments of our career came when the massive neon sign we designed lit up their flagship location on Route 66.
